Latest Updates
19th September 2025 : Please note that North Hill will be closed to through traffic from 29th September 2025 to June 2026. Residents of North Hill and West Downs Close will continue to have access to their homes. An advance notice letter is being sent to approx. 2,500 local residents and business. Overview and New Junction Layout
The upgrade will change the existing roundabout arrangement into a signalised junction with traffic lights. There will be a new dedicated bus lane and new pedestrian and cycle crossing points and links. A plan of the finished scheme can be viewed here.
Signalised crossings for pedestrians and cyclist have been designed across the new layout to enable safe crossing points east-west and north-south. You can find details on the plan here.
When complete, drivers will use the junction as a signalised junction with filter lanes and traffic lights enabling continued access north and south to Fareham via Wickham Road or North Hill but also access to and from Furze Court. Details of vehicle movement at the junction can be found here.
