FINANCIAL TIMES - Inside Welborne
We’re delighted to share that Welborne will be featured in this weekend’s edition of the Financial Times, with the article already published online.
Thoughtfully exploring how Welborne is being developed as a garden village that blends modern living with beautifully designed, high-quality homes, Francesca Perry, interviews our very own Mark Thistlethwayte, the Chairman of Buckland Group, and our award-winning Town Architect, Ben Pentreath, and renowned landscape architect, Kim Wilkie.
Mark shares his unified vision for Welborne and the importance of creating a community with early access to essential amenities such as a primary school and nursery, a GP practice, a village hall, a pub and local shops and cafés.
Ben discusses Welborne’s design code and the importance of ensuring that new homes reflect the charm and character of Hampshire’s historic villages. In line with the garden village movement, the intrinsic value of green spaces is highlighted, noting that residents will benefit from proximity to Dashwood’s ancient woodland and large parks, with over 50% of Welborne being accessible green space.
The homes themselves are designed with advanced technology to prioritise both sustainability and convenience. Every home at Welborne is fitted with a water-source heat pump, an innovative system that provides heating in the winter and cooling during the warmer months. Additional sustainability features will include EV charging points for each home as well as solar panels.
Thank you to Francesca Perry for visiting Welborne this summer.
